Brooklyn burlesque starlet, Angie Pontani broke into show business with the Dutch Weismann speakeasy chorus line before she was old enough to enter a nightclub through the front door. Shimmying up the showgirl ranks, Angie quickly became a featured solo performer in the show and throughout NYC. Enchanting the press and audiences alike with her winning smile, inspired dance moves, and affinity for over the top costuming, Angie caught the collective eye of renowned promoters, photographers, and artists. She has modeled extensively for some of the best in the business including Ellen Von Unwerth, Josh Gosfield, Orlando Marra, and Dana Luxembourg, as well as played muse to acclaimed painter, David Remfry. Angie has been seen in all her glittery glory in major pictorials in magazines such as Flaunt, New York Magazine, Style Monte Carlo, and L’Uomo Vogue.

Not one to rest on her high heels, Angie formed the World Famous Pontani Sisters, a trio of choreographed cuties on a quest to bring glamour back to entertainment! Along with her sisters in syncopation, Tara and Helen, Angie began staging Busby Berkeley inspired dance production numbers on the glorious Coney Island boardwalk. Reminiscent of an MGM Technicolor musical, the sisters boogied with serious foot sync and wildly ornate costumes hand crafted by Angie. Drawing glowing attention from the press, the Pontani Sisters began performing all over NYC and eventually across the nation, to date having completed over 13 national tours and European appearances. They are one of the most recognized and respected names in the business and have been credited with helping to pioneer the “New Burlesque” revival. Most recently the sisters were named the “#1 Burlesque Attraction in the Nation” as well as “Best NY Based Dance Company” by Show Business Weekly.

As a solo artist, Angie draws on the influences of her early career, as well as the invaluable experiences with the Pontani Sisters. Her showbiz journey has been time well spent culminating in pounds of plumage worth of expertease thus giving her the ability to put on a show unmatched in style, sass, class, and costuming. Performing all over the world, both solo and with her sisters, Angie spreads the glamour gospel with every shimmy, bump ‘n grind, high kick and eye trick! She’s appeared at private events for The Deitch Project, Jane Magazine, the Fox 5 Superbowl Party, Virgin Records, BUST Magazine, The Guggenheim, and Target to name a few. When the world of television has beckoned she’s been featured several times on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, as well as on a host of other national television programs as a premiere burlesque performer, such as Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.

Angie is a left-handed Scorpio who lives in Brooklyn, NY with her loveable yet terribly ferocious dog Elvis. She enjoys collecting anything in animal print, vintage LP’s, spurs and paintings of horses, which she also enjoys riding. In her spare time she enjoys sewing, crocheting, gardening, overdressing, bedazzling everything, riding her orange chopper bicycle, and cooking giant Sunday dinners for her family and friends. She does all of this in high heels.
