New York City magician, Albert Cadabra, is a professional, award-winning stand-up comic and magician who delivers powerful, amazing and devilishly wild magic. Over the past 12 years Albert has entertained people from China to Coney Island; from concert halls to intimate private parties. His show is funny, well-rounded, astonishing and above all entertaining. This is the story of what and who brought him to such a highly developed degree of entertainment.

Born in Santa Monica, CA and raised in Rhinebeck, NY, Albert was what you would call a typical "class clown". Telling jokes, pulling pranks and baffling his fellow students with classic tricks found in magic books he picked up from the school library (Albert says, "It was Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic and Bill Tarr's Now You See It, Now You Don't"). It wasn't until Rhinebeck High School English teacher and Theatre Director, Vincent Nugent, took Albert under his wing and taught him to hone his class clown attitude into a creative & entertaining mindset that he saw the possibilities in performing. Mr. Nugent placed him in the role of "the Scarecrow" in Rhinebeck's production of The Wizard of Oz. Throughout the school's many years of putting on shows not one performer was even nominated for the County Players Annual "Tony" Awards Ceremony. But that year Albert won the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Musical and Most Promising Male Talent. Rhinebeck, NY was proud and Albert has been on stage ever since. Albert then went on to attend Bard College. With the guidance and instruction of prestigious professors such as Adolfas Mekas, Peggy Ahwesh and Peter Hutton, Albert received a B.A. in Liberal Arts with a Major in Film. Aside from studying his tail off throughout his Bard College days, he continued to perform and improve his unique style of magic and comedy at numerous Bard events and local theaters. After graduating and deciding NYC was the place to make his new home, he bought a one-way ticket and arrived during the blizzard of '96. He has never looked back.

Since arriving in NYC, Albert Cadabra has been performing as much as humanly possible for EVERY occasion. He has been seen plying his trade at private parties (like Tom O'Horgan's parties and the Caminis Christmas Ball) and concert arenas (such as Roseland Arena in NYC and Whitemore Arena in NH), as well as creating and performing a show entitled Magical Madness, an Off-Off-Broadway, hour long magical spectacular that ran weekly for two years straight here in NYC.

Albert is happiest when able to perform his one-of-a-kind, unique magic show. Filled with amazing and bizarre feats of legerdemain using coins, cards, ropes, rings, cigarettes (kids you shouldn't smoke), borrowed items and his incredible mental power, his show is fun, funny, amazing and highly entertaining for people of all ages. His personable and witty attitude has made him loved by all. Albert Cadabra is a true ENTERTAINER.

Superior close-up magic using cards, coins, rubber bands, borrowed objects and mind power! Watch as items disappear, fly across the room and change shape all right under the noses of your guests. Intriguing stories, a great sense of humor and amazing sleight of hand make this type of show ideal for parties where people are mingling and conversing. The walk-around show is a very intelligent way to liven up any type of group gathering. This type of show could last anywhere from an hour to 4 hours depending on the type of event. The show can also be modified to utilize specific company items, logos and slogans.

The Cadabra Spectacular
The Cadabra Spectacular is a 45-minute, high energy show filled with fun, edge-of-your-seat-excitement and lots of audience participation. This wonderful stage show has illusions, stunts, escapes, the famous Cadabra cube challenge, and Albert's incredible mind reading powers!!! Also, what magic show would be complete without the sawing illusion? Albert Cadabra will saw in half a member of the audience using a real Black & Decker jigsaw... very funny when it's the C.E.O. or person of Honor getting sawed in half!!!

The Cadabra Sideshow
Perfect for those with a twisted sense of humor!

The Cadabra Sideshow includes carnival stories and sideshow stunts such as:

  • Reading the minds of the audience
  • The Human Dynamo (witness as 200,000 volts pass through Cadabra)
  • The hammering of a nail into the head
  • Great Escapes (roped, chained and locked up by the audience)
  • Glass Eating
  • Razor blade swallowing
  • Watch Cadabra pass through 20ft of tangled barbed wire
  • The sawing in half of a volunteer with a REAL Black and Decker jigsaw
  • Lots of audience participation, laughs, thrills, chills and amazement (cotton candy and popcorn available upon request)

This show is not recommended for those under the age of 10, those with a weak heart, or any scaredy-pants.
