Anita Cookie is the most intoxicated - oops - I mean intoxicating tassel twirler this side of the Rio Grande. Leaving behind the sun-baked shores of the pacific, she has taken The Big Apple by storm. Being an 80 Proof product of San Diego, one thing she didn't dare leave behind was her love of tequila... a big, big love only surpassed by her insatiable hunger for cookies.
Anita's bubbly voice and sultry dance moves have graced the stages of such fine New York City establishments as the Cutting Room, South Paw, Rififi, Galapagos, and BB King's, as well as that world famous LA landmark, The Derby.
She is a character with the curves of Marilyn Monroe, the helium pipes of Betty Boop, and the wit of Mae West. The Cookie drinks like Dean Martin, is usually involved in antics reminiscent of Lucille Ball, and, for some strange reason, seems unable to keep her glitzy costumes from inevitably finding their way on to the floor. While Anita shakes her hips and smacks her lips she hopes to spread her philosophy of "Cookies, not war" all around NYC and, maybe, even the world.
With the innocence of a lush and a fondness for baked goods, Anita Cookie's swaying body and silvery tones may seem to be simply entertaining, but a closer look may reveal a message hidden under all that west coast sass. So hey... let's take a look!
"Anita Cookie was hands-down the most humorous act of the evening. Her tequila tinged Betty Boop was hilarious ..."
- Daniel Harvey www.ortgeist.com
"I don't remember the names of all the performers that night, but I do remember Anita Cookie. The bubbly drunk whose pearly white smile and affinity for martini's and bath time friend Rubber Ducky was a crowd favorite."
