Harvest Moon, also known as "The Sultry Siren of Burlesque", began her career by founding the legendary dance troupe The Cantankerous Lollies in 1995. Miss Moon's troupe quickly became San Francisco's premiere showgirl act, known for their Montmartre-style cabarets, including rousing Can-Cans which would've made Toulouse Lautrec proud. Throughtout the late 90s, The Cantankerous Lollies performed in many diverse San Francisco venues and top nightclubs including The Regal, Bimbo's, The Fillmore, The Boomerang, The Hush Hush Lounge, The El Rio, The Great American Music Hall, and The San Francisco Museum of Natural History.
In 1997 The Cantankerous Lollies were the first troupe ever to perform at the Miss Exotic World Pageant. Under Harvest's direction, the Lollies won "Best Dance Troupe" two years in a row. They later earned a star in the Exotic World Museum's Hall Of Fame. In 2000, they joined Susan "Kitten On The Keys" Ramsey for a West Coast tour which included a jam-packed night at the Hollywood landmark nightclub, The Derby. In Portland they performed for Kitty Diggin's production of "Strange Fruit Of Summer" and "Frolic By The Sea".
By the late 'Nineties, the so-called Neo-Burlesque movement was well underway, steadily gaining increasing notoriety and media coverage year by year, and The Cantankerous Lollies helped spear-head the West Coast scene. The Bay Guardian awarded the troupe "Best Can-Can And Burlesque Review" in the 2001 edition of the annual Best Of The Bay. This was the first year the Bay Guardian had such a category. They gained front page exposure in the pages of the New Orlean's Times-Picayune arts section during that year's annual Tease-O-Rama Burlesque convention. Harvest Moon, both individually and with The Cantankerous Lollies, has been spotlighted in the recent fully illustrated book 'Burlesque And The New Bump And Grind' -- a comprehensive history of burlesque from the origin right up through today. A life-sized print of "Harvest Moon Y El Famoso Bailar De Abanicos" has been featured in the Diesel Denim gallery in NYC's SoHo and displayed at the 2005 Semi-Permanent design conference held at Lincoln Center.
In 2001, Harvest Moon moved to New York, where she has since been actively making a name for herself in the cities' burlesque scene, performing both solo and with a newly-formed east coast troupe of Cantankerous Lollies. Miss Moon's emerging solo work has been noted for its elegance and classic form. She blends vintage burlesque style with unique and surprising elements borrowed from the circus' big-top. Her acts never fail to bring down the house, often featuring hula hoop acts, silhouetted glass-balancing acts performed behind muslin screens, impossible contortions, and other sexy stage acrobatics. In addition to this, Harvest performed with members of Cirque du Soleil in the 2005 production of "The Love Show". Lately, she's made an even stronger return to her circus roots, performing as part of a trapeze duo with Elie Venezsky, a trapeze artist who has toured Europe and the US with the Tiger Lillies.
