Author of smug etiquette, pontiff of the practical, aesthete of the young and aspiring, connoisseur of all things cultural, chic rascal -- Fitzgerald provides a comprehensive philosophy for the modern individual.
Fitzgerald gained cult status with his cable access show O'Brien's People, where he interviewed Hollywood's most eccentric experts, including Dr. Bill Knute (pet plastic surgeon), James Prideaux (Hollywood phrenologist/casting director) and Kenneth James (insect pornographer). His subversive comedy (creator of the "dancing beef jerky") and insight into the perils of single life have made him a favorite at Hollywood's Magic Castle and at top comedy venues across the country.
His recent book, Bachelor 2000: Fitzgerald's Handbook for the Hollywood Celibate, has made him a favorite guest of talk-shows and special events, and his sold-out Bachelor 2000 shows have amassed a devoted following ranging from Silverlake's jaded hipsters to Bel Air's upper crust. When asked to define his appeal to an unsuspecting audience, Fitzgerald quipped, "Tell them I'm Quentin Crisp in a tight suit ... Tell them I've edified the priesthood ... Tell them I have the cure for cold sores." Well, not quite.
