Princess Farhana has performed, taught and written about dance for fifteen years. An internationally acclaimed oriental (belly) dancer, she has appeared in Egypt, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Mexico, and Canada, as well as all over the US, and performed at concerts with Amr Diab, Hakim, Natacha Atlas, and Alabina as well as private events for celebrities and dignitaries such as former First Lady Hilary Clinton, The Saudi Arabian Royal family, Jude Law, Al Pacino, Gwyneth Paltrow, and The Rolling Stones. Her specialty is belly dancing while balancing swords. As a burlesque artist, she starred for over a decade as a soloist in The Velvet Hammer Burlesque. She has go-go danced live onstage for the likes of Nancy Sinatra, The B-52's, and The Go-Go's. Currently, she travels internationally performing and teaching dance workshops. She's been featured in numerous motion pictures, videos, television shows, and in documentary films, both dancing and as an interview subject. A member of SAG and AFTRA, she acts as well as dances, and has been a principle in many films, most recently, "Firecracker", directed by Steve Balderson. She is a regular contributor to Habibi Magazine, Jareeda, Zaghareet, and gildedserpent.com, and has written about oriental dance in many mainstream publications, as well. She has produced a number of dance events, as well as seven instruction / performance DVD's. Her warmth, enthusiasm and adventurous spirit -- on and off stage -- captivates audiences and students alike.
